Metropolitan Melbourne school visits

Metropolitan school visits provide an opportunity for students to learn about Parliament from experienced Parliament Tours and Outreach Officers in their own classroom.
Metropolitan school visits provide an opportunity for students to learn about Parliament from experienced Parliament Tours and Outreach Officers in their own classroom.

Our Metropolitan School Visit brings Parliament to your classroom, with a hands‑on, curriculum‑aligned role play that shows students how Parliament works.

If your school is within 50 kilometers of Parliament House, we can visit your classroom to run our interactive role-play.

During this 75-minute session, students actively engage in the law-making process by assuming roles such as Speaker, Clerk, Serjeant-at-Arms, Premier, Leader of the Opposition, and other members of Parliament.

We offer role-plays for students in grades 5/6 and VCE Legal Studies. To learn more about the role-plays we offer, visit our role-play page.

Our role-play sessions have been designed to align with the Victorian curriculum.
