Constituency questions
Eastern Victoria Region
Tom McINTOSH (Eastern Victoria) (12:51): (2568) My question is for the Minister for Agriculture in the other place. Constituents across eastern Victoria, including local timber workers, landowners and regional communities, are deeply invested in the development and management of the plantation forestry estate in Gippsland. Victoria has a nation-leading plantation sector with thousands of jobs, and it supplies timber to our building and manufacturing workforces and draws down millions of tonnes of CO2 annually. My question to the minister is: Minister, how is the Victorian government supporting the long-term security of the plantation estate in eastern Victoria?
