Veterans support
John BERGER (Southern Metropolitan) (15:31): (2760) My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Veterans. Former members of the ADF, through the training they have received, often have highly specialised skills that can be invaluable to the broader workforce. Despite this, veterans can sometimes face barriers to getting into the civilian workforce when they finish their service. This can not only cause great stress for the individuals struggling to find work but also deprive the economy of the skills that these impressive individuals have attained through their time in the Australian Defence Force. Given that, I think that it is of incredible benefit to make sure that these veterans are easily able to reintegrate themselves back into the civilian workforce. The action that I seek is for the minister to provide an update on how the Victorian government is helping veterans make the transition into the civilian workforce.
