Ryan BATCHELOR (Southern Metropolitan) (09:41): I also want to use this opportunity to wish Shana Tova to the Jewish community in the Southern Metropolitan Region and across Victoria in the lead-up to the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, beginning on Friday and concluding on Sunday, the commemoration in Jewish tradition of the creation of the world. It is the beginning of the high holidays for the Jewish community, a time for reflection, gratitude, renewal and community over the next 10 days, that will end with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, on Sunday 20 September, which is the holiest and most solemn day in Judaism. I want to extend to all residents of Southern Metropolitan and the Jewish community a respectful and blessed high holiday period.
