Constituency questions
Southern Metropolitan Region
Ryan BATCHELOR (Southern Metropolitan) (12:44): (2595) My constituency question today is to the Minister for Health. How is the Carroll Labor government making sure that women in the Southern Metropolitan Region are getting the health care that they need? For too long Victorian women have experienced barriers and delays in obtaining support during menopause, for example, or for conditions like endometriosis. That is why Labor is investing a landmark $153 million in a women’s health package that will deliver the health care Victorian women deserve and that is free, accessible and close to home. Last week at the Sandringham Hospital with the Parliamentary Secretary for Health we opened the menopause connecting care clinic, providing specialist care for those experiencing menopause, perimenopause and other conditions, in the spectacular and newly refurbished outpatient clinics that have been upgraded by the Labor government. We are delivering 20 multidisciplinary women’s health clinics across Victoria, including in Prahran, so that women get the care and information on a range of conditions that they need. Only Labor is investing in the health care that women deserve.
