Anasina GRAY-BARBERIO (Northern Metropolitan) (12:57): (2608) My constituency question is for the Minister for Local Government. Brunswick Library is a vital service in my electorate of Northern Metro Region. It provides community access to books, technology, community programs and welcoming spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds. The Australian Services Union has been campaigning for secure jobs, fair wages and decent conditions for the workers who make these services possible, but councils need adequate funding to provide quality library services and properly value the workers who deliver them. Minister, will you commit to increasing funding to local governments, in particular additional funding for public libraries like Brunswick Library, so that they can maintain high-quality services and library workers can receive fair pay and secure conditions?
